Our story
Leon Loard gained renown across the Southeast as a portrait photographer in 1947. He later trained portrait painters to combine his photography with the oil medium to hand paint what is now known The Studio Painting™ and The Gallery Canvas™.
During that time, Loard also began to represent many of the most highly recognized portrait painters across the U.S. who specialize in The Original Oil on Linen. We continue to offer all three types of hand painted oil portraiture to our clients today.
Family Owned
Best known for his magical way photographing children, Loard traveled across the Southeast conducting portrait sittings for families and institutions well into his 70’s. Loard’s portrait worthy images have been translated into thousands of timeless oil portraits for three generations of clients.
Now a second generation, family owned company, LEON LOARD™ proudly continues to serve our fine families and institutions across the entire Southeast. Several professionally trained portrait painters, staff photographers, and artists representatives work closely with our valued clients to continue the LEON LOARD™ experience to the next generation.
